Survival Tips for The Anxious Bride

Getting married is a crucial and pivotal point within your life. You will forever join your life with another person. Although you are gaining a partner forever, it can still be extremely nerve wracking. There are many fears that can turn your romantic wedding into a bundle of nerves. Whether you are afraid of being the center of attention, making your speech, perfectly reciting your vows, or any other reason, it is all too easy to become anxious.

However, your wedding day shouldn’t be filled with fear and anxiety! And luckily, there are a few ways that you can calm your anxiety and face the day with confidence.

Here at Signature Occasions, we know how stressful the big day can be. That’s why we have put together a few survival tips for the anxious bride. If you are feeling a bit nervous about your own wedding day, be sure to keep reading to learn more.

  • Consider a long engagement. Once you and your partner announce your engagement, you will likely have many people asking you if you have picked a date yet. It is normal to see couples dive into planning a wedding immediately after getting engaged. However, this is not required! You don’t have to begin planning your wedding until you are ready. If you are anxious about coordinating such a large event, being able to afford such a grand big day, or if you just want some time with your partner to enjoy your engagement before you being planning each and every wedding detail, it would pay to consider having a longer engagement. You can plan your wedding when you and your partner are both ready.

  • Don’t be afraid to accept help. A wedding is no small event. From the many vendors you will need to the large amounts of décor you may want, you have a lot on your plate. If your partner or loved ones want to help you plan your special day, don’t be anxious about handing over a few of the tasks on your to-do list. They only want the best for you, and if you assign tasks with thought, you can feel at ease knowing they won’t disappoint.

  • It’s ok to feel overwhelmed. Your new engagement will be exciting for a while. After all, you and your partner are going to be getting married! While this will always be a special time within your relationship, the initial thrill and excitement will begin to wear off. Once you begin discussing your wedding date and dive into wedding planning, you will certainly be faced with many tasks to complete on a timeline, and many decisions to make. This can all seem very stressful and overwhelming. Just remember, it is completely ok that you feel overwhelmed. You are planning a huge and crucial event and it’s stressful. This does not mean that you are having cold feet. It’s important to take a step back and let yourself breathe before diving back in. Just be kind to yourself.

It’s no secret that planning a wedding is extremely stressful. It’s all too easy to become anxious and overwhelmed. However, here at Signature Occasions, we want to help you plan your dream wedding with ease, so that you can relax.
